Gala 2024 is the not-to-be-missed networking event in the private capital calendar. Join senior attendees from across the private capital ecosystem for an evening of networking, entertainment and festive celebration.
We are delighted to announce a brand-new venue for Gala 2024 – Banking Hall. This art-deco venue located at the heart of London’s prestigious Square Mile, has been designed to impress and will provide a stunning backdrop for what promises to be an unmissable evening.
Gala 2024 will also feature the presentation of the Vision 2024 National Awards. This annual initiative, held in association with headline sponsor Grant Thornton and supporting sponsor Santander, is aimed at recognising the best business leaders and their GP backers within our membership.

Actor, screenwriter and author
Acclaimed West Midlands born actor, screenwriter and author Meera Syal CBE is arguably best known for her comedy creations in the long-running BBC series Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars at No. 42. On the big screen, Meera has starred in family favourite Paddington 2, Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and Danny Boyle’s 2019 musical rom-com Yesterday.
A popular face on stage, Meera’s many theatre credits include Beatrice in the RSC’s Much Ado About Nothing, The Nurse in Kenneth Branagh’s Romeo & Juliet Dotty in the West End transfer of Noises Off and most recently, Queenie in A Tupperware of Ashes at the National Theatre. Meera’s most recent small screen credits include The Devil’s Hour, Mrs Sidhu Investigates and Wheel of Time.
Outside of acting, Meera has written several novels including Life Isn't All Ha Ha Hee Hee, and the semi-autobiographical Anita & Me. Her childhood experiences growing up in a small Black Country mining community, as literally “The Only Asians In The Village” provided the backdrop to the latter. This novel won a Betty Trask Award and was later adapted into a film starring Meera herself.
In 2015, Meera was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire for her services to drama and literature and, in 2017, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. Meera Syal also received the BAFTA Academy’s highest honour in 2023, a BAFTA Fellowship Award.
Situated in the heart of London's prestigious Square Mile, Banking Hall is a Grade II art deco venue and the brand new location for Gala 2024.
